Arrival and parking
We’re set in a residential area, with plenty of on-street parking along with parking on the lawn in the summer months.
As you approach SMC, you might notice the tree in our grounds before the building itself. It’s a magnificent tree!
When you arrive our welcome team will greet you at the door.
What to expect during one of our Sunday services
The morning service starts at 10:00. With coffee served from 09:30. On the last Sunday of the month, the young people lead us in an intergenerational service.
Our services are informal and straight-forward. There’s no need to come suited up, just wear whatever you feel most comfortable in.
The service lasts just over an hour, and includes sung worship, a talk based on the bible and our experiences of following Jesus, in a practical and relevant way to our everyday lives. We will also pray for ourselves, each other, and our world.
After the service
After the service you can get a cup of tea or coffee in the hall. We’d love to chat and get to know you, and this is a great space for that.

Accessibility & inclusivity
We aim to make our building and services accessible and inclusive to everyone including those with additional needs. The building is accessible with a ramp (from the gates off Brompton Road). Most of our songs are available in Braille.

Worship
Worship is more than just music. Worship goes beyond our Sunday services, as we live out an expression of our love for God in our everyday lives. Music is one of the ways we can express this. During our Sunday services we enjoy singing to, and about God. It’s one of the ways that many in our church communicate with God – to thank Him for what He is doing in our lives, to praise Him or lift Him up, and to tell Him how we feel about Him. We’re proud that the Methodist Church is said to have been born in song – we want to make sure that as Methodist’s we’re not just a tradition born in song, but a people living and flourishing in song today, too.
On a Sunday we sing a blend of music, set within a contemporary style. That’s to say we enjoy a broad range of musical heritage from brand new song to traditional hymns, all done with a modern SMC feel.
